Mondays even when they are holidays are still the shittiest day of the week.
Unless of course, you are a government employee, or a teacher, or hell even a banker (which I am not). I never get MLK day, or Columbus Day, or Presidents' Day off from work, and I am extremely jealous of those of you that do.
The holidays I do get off, are Memorial Day (you, Memorial Day will get a special blog all of your very own very soon), 4th of July, Labor Day, Christmas, and New Year's Day.(Yeah I get Thanksgiving off too, but that never falls on a Monday)
So, yeah I get some 3 day weekends every year, and I while I enjoy that, Monday is Monday and it's evilness never goes away.
For example, my Memorial Day usually rains. No beachy-fun cook outs, unless you want to get soaked, and possibly struck by lightning.
4th of July, when it's on a Monday is depressing. I don't think about how fun the rest of the weekend was, just "oh great, now it's Monday, and a holiday, and I can't even go to the bar and get shitty drunk because I have to work in the morning.****"
Labor Day is depressing because it's the first Monday that summer is officially over. If you live in the frozen tundra, like I do, that's enough to make you want to get a shitty haircut, listen to bad music, and cut yourself.
When Christmas is on a Monday I want to say "FUCK YOU YEAR XXXX for totally ruining my holiday" because here in America we don't get Dec 26th off, unless we ask for it, all special like, and it's not always a guaranteed yes. (Although my boss is very accommodating)
New Year's Day on a Monday just pisses me off that I have to truck it in through the ice and snow on Tuesday.
I might like Monday more if I got them off all the time. Then again, I can always find something to bitch about, so probably not.
-----------
Today's Monday was shit. I don't like to get up in the middle of the night for work (0600 you whore of an hour). I hate to be awake before the sun. Monday is always the worst. It was raining this morning, and pleasantly warm, when I got out to the car. Imagine my joy when I saw that my asshole neighbors blocked me in, so I had to the back up, turn wheel, drive forward, turn wheel, back up again, turn wheel dance to get out of my spot. This made me late. Then I got stuck behind a 95 yr old woman driving 10 miles per hour, and I couldn't pass her. Made me even more late. Soon as I got to a passing zone, the fucker behind me speeds up, cuts me off to get in front of Grandma Corpse..which fucked up my own trying to pass plans. Hit every red light on the way in to work, as is normal.
Only had one douche-y patient today though, so that was a Monday plus! Had quite a few Monday smellies though. Some people smelled like they came right from the bar. How I wished I could do a blood alcohol on them, but no. Some people just need to be introduced to soap and running water, at the same time.
Typical Monday crowd.
****insert the getting shitty at the bar to every Monday holiday, I just didn't want to type it that many times
P.S. If anyone is actually reading this, please, comment, and tell me why your Monday sucks. If you have a good story, email me at NMiodus@gmail.com and tell me all about it...I'll post it in a "Here's someone else who fucking hates Mondays" blog. Oh, and don't use real names, unless you don't really give a shit, because I will use the names you provide.

Hey girl!
ReplyDeleteLet me start by saying - I love this blog!
Since I work from home, you'd think I could avoid the shittiness that is Mondays, but you'd be mistaken. Monday is my son's day to have all his activities crammed into one evening. OM, CS, you name it, those bastards meet on Monday. So I've gotta get him from place to place, feed him, get him home, bathed and off to bed before time to go to school the next morning. Oh, and did I mention the a-hole kids at CS? God help me, if those were my kids, I swear to God...
So even though I've tried to make a fairly leisurely life for myself, Mondays have still found a way to wreak havoc on my week.
Thanks for giving us a place to vent our frustration with that most cowardly bastard of days.
There it is. Confirmation of the Evilness that is Monday.
